Dining

The hotel collaborates with local brewers and winemakers to present a curated bar menu. This includes housemade nuts and pickles, as well as a selection of local beers and non-intervention wines. This outdoor space serves as a tranquil retreat amidst the bustling city. Visitors can enjoy the garden's atmosphere while appreciating the fresh ingredients used in the hotel's dining offerings.

Rooms: original handwoven artworks in each room

Rooftop: exclusive access to rooftop garden

Location: 3-minute walk from Aldgate East

“The Buxton stands out for its dedication to local sourcing, from the rooftop garden's produce to collaborations with regional brewers-a rare commitment. While rooms prioritize essentials, the exceptional breakfast, particularly the coffee, defies typical hotel beverage standards. Service shines with a personal touch, making it a worthwhile experience despite its pet policy.”

Review summary
Based on recent reviews
Powered by AI
The Buxton is appreciated for its superb location, being within a convenient 5-10 minute walk to Aldgate East tube, Liverpool Street, and Whitechapel stations, along with easy access to buses. Guests consistently praise the comfortable beds and powerful showers. The well-designed, though sometimes compact, rooms often feature thoughtful touches like a coffee maker and tea facilities. While some have noted noise from the street, the hotel's proximity to Brick Lane's vibrant shops, cafes, and a Turkish restaurant just 30m away tends to be a highlight.

small room sizeoutdated television
The room size was disappointing . It felt cramped , and maneuvering around was difficult. the lack of soundproofing was noticeable , particularly with street noise disturbing sleep. The television was outdated , and operating it proved cumbersome. I found these aspects detracted from an otherwise acceptable stay.
